Balanced Pyramid – Party Game with Cups and the Top Ball

Balanced Pyramid is a thrilling challenge game where players must collapse a pyramid of cups while keeping a ball balanced on the top cup at all times. Any rush can be fatal: if the ball falls, the player must rebuild the pyramid and start again. This game combines patience, precision, and steady hands for a unique party challenge.

How to Play

Build a pyramid of plastic cups upside down – the standard level is 10 cups.
Place a ping pong ball (or another small ball) on the top cup.
At the start, the player begins stacking the cups into one pile, always keeping the ball balanced on the top cup.
If the ball falls:

  • Standard rule: rebuild the entire pyramid from scratch and continue.

  • Easy mode: restart only from the previous cup or partial step.

Game Variants

  • Solo: the winner is the player who achieves the best time on the clock, collapsing the entire pyramid while keeping the ball in balance on top.

  • 1 vs. 1: two players compete simultaneously; the winner is the first to complete the full stack of cups with the ball still balanced on top and the stack placed correctly on the table.

  • Teams: teammates take turns collapsing the pyramid row by row, switching after each row. The stack of cups with the ball balanced on top must never be placed on the table – it has to be passed directly from hand to hand between teammates while keeping the ball in balance.
